Back Again

Tue Oct 13, 2009, 6:42 PM
Hey all,
For the sole purpose of separating my commercial/studio work from my fine art pieces, this account will be up and running again.

It's good to be back.

Sorry guys, I never get on here anymore...
I'll try to update sometime but school owns my life right now, and therefore the internet definitely has taken the back seat.

I'll try to get on and check up on you guys though!

Any questions about anything ever or things of that sort can be emailed to me.

No one ever reads journals... but...

I have deleted a ton of scraps & deviations. Why? Because what I once thought was a "good photo," or something of artistic merit seems only subpar now. Funny how I used to think I was such a great photographer, now I see that I have a LOT to learn. Humble pie?

Anyways, I haven't uploaded anything new in around a year- sometime I'll get to that. :)

Remember when....

Wed Jul 12, 2006, 2:44 PM
Remember when you said art was life? We thought it dripped through our veins, we didn't care if we made fools of ourselves as long as we had some meaning, and motivation behind what we had done. Remember when pageviews and favorites, and scholarships and awards didn't matter? Remember when we thought those vapid and shallow pieces that grabbed attention because the artist was popular were the antithesis of anything we'd ever want to create?

Well, things have changed. It's no longer about the art, it seems, but rather the popularity, the friends, and the admiration that one gets from creating some popular piece of artwork. Sure, it's nice to have success, but to always strive for it? Well, where's the purpose in that? Paychecks may be huge, and the crowd around you may be adoring, but where's the sense of pleasure and satisfaction you get from creating a visual piece of your imagination- something so deep that it was once a part of your soul?

Things have changed, my friend. Open your eyes and your heart again- look around you and see what you've become.

-----

I hardly ever get on this site anymore. Art school sucks my soul and time right out of me.
If anyone has any questions, comments, or need to contact me- feel free to email me at kcoope26@student.scad.edu

Thanks.
